It's easier to change to a vegan lifestyle a little at a time.
Some people - those with health issues, those with high motivation and lots of time - may want to jump into changing to a plant based diet 100% all at once. I did. The timing was perfect for me, but truthfully for a few months, this was ALL I focused on. Had I been working or had lots going on in my life, that would have been impossible.
A more practical (and way less stressful) approach is to change a little at a time. Give yourself permission to ease into the change with the goal of getting better and better as you go.
Here's one super easy change you can start with that will improve your health greatly -
Have a really big salad once a day as one of your meals.
If you have a refrigerator, you can make your own. If you need to eat out, salads are super easy to find.
Load it with greens and good veggies. Make it fancy and fun and super healthy. You may find yourself getting interested in color and composition. There's an art to a salad!
Don't include any meat on it. If you are eating out and the salad comes with bacon or chicken or something you don't want, just ask them nicely if you can substitute something else you'd rather have.
The salad should be your meal. Whether you do it at lunch or dinner doesn't matter. You could even do it for breakfast if you like.
